Program Costs

The Memory Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We do not receive money from the government or any other large entity, so we ask our participants to share in the expenses by making a financial contribution. This is how we have been able to accomplish so much together since 2004.

The amount we request for the Global Art Exchange is $12 per student

If you work at a low-income school or your class cannot afford the full contribution for any reason, please let us know. Our goal is to include as many young artists as possible regardless of finances.

TRY 5 FREE

If you have never participated before and would like to give it a trial run first, we would love for you to involve 1-5 students with no financial contribution. Just tell us you'd like to give it a try!

How we use your financial contribution

It takes a lot of staff time and resources to make the Art Exchange work.

  1. Art supplies and coordination for participating children overseas: 35%

  2. Organizing, labeling, and packaging artwork: 25%

  3. Coordinating with art teachers in the US and partners abroad: 20%

  4. Cost of shipping art to and from foreign countries: 12%

  5. Subsidizing participation for under-resourced American schools: 5%

  6. Technology: 3%

Checks should be made out to"The Memory Project" and can be mailed to us with your finished artwork. Just let us know if you would like an invoice or would prefer to pay another way.
