Program Costs

The Memory Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  We do not receive money from the government or any other large entity, so we ask every group that creates portraits to share in the cost of coordination and delivery to the children.  This is how we have been able to accomplish so much together since 2004.

The amount we request is $15 per portrait, which has never increased.

If you work at a low-income school or your class cannot afford the full contribution for any reason, please let us know.  Our goal is to include as many young artists as possible regardless of finances.

If you have never participated before and would like to give it a trial run first, we would love for you to create portraits for 1-5 children with no financial contribution involved.  Just tell us you'd like to give it a try!

Here is how we use your financial contribution

It takes a lot of staff time and resources to make this work.
